Noël St. John Harnden conceptual ideas is manifested in varying treatment of shape, line and color along with the inclusion of the recognizable human form/body. However, I view the figure in an abstract and transparent way which integrates the body as a structure into the background and surface in a unified field. I view the body as an extension of energy, the personality within the form, from the quantum to the infinite all are one and the same. Layering is both a physical aspect of the painting process and an intellectual addition of personal interest for me, in, time, space, quantum possibilities, metaphysics and consciousness. I aim to imbue my work with a linear connection from my subconscious to my creation, and to leave a resonance within the work to be tuned into by the viewer. I aim to transcend the 2D surface and move into the artwork as a doorway to multiple dimensional perceptions of finite and infinite, solid and fluid, and realms beyond the beyond.
